Answer
Scholarly articles are usually research articles written by experts, for researchers, students, and other experts. You may also find scholarly articles referred to as:
- peer-reviewed
- refereed
- professional
- academic
Look for articles with abstracts/summaries, author affiliations, charts & graphs, lists of citations/references.
