How do I cite sources in APA style?
Answer
The Library's APA Citation Style Guide provides links to resources that show how to utilize APA for citing sources, creating a reference list, and writing a paper in APA style. The main sites recommended are Purdue Online Writing Lab (Purdue OWL), and two APA sites, APA Style Website and APA Style Blog.
Note: many databases have an option of obtaining the citation in APA format directly. Look for either a "Cite" link or a " icon in the record to find the citation. (WestSearch, Ebsco, and ProQuest do this, as do many others.)
Citation management tools, such as Zotero and Mendeley, also can generate citations/reference. The APA Citation Guide has links to a few of these tools.
