Why aren't some journal articles available for print?

Answer

Due to their high cost, most of the journals available to WCSU are through database subscriptions, not subscriptions to individual journals. If you have searched the databases, and an article is not available, utilize Journal Finder and Interlibrary loan. There is usually a link to Journal Finder in the database record. Journal Finder will try to locate the text of the article. It will locate it in a subscribed journal if available that way. It will also provide an option to order it through interlibrary loan. When you click on the interlibrary loan link, you will be asked to sign in to ILLiad. If you are new to ILLiad, you can create a free account with your WCSU email. Once you sign in, the system takes it from there - filling out all the required information automatically - and all you will have to do is click the Submit button.

Before you order via ILL, please discuss your information needs with the librarian. You can text a Reference Librarian or contact us through Virtual Reference. We may be able to find other items which are currently available that may satisfy your information needs. Please be aware that it may take 1-2 weeks for an item to be delivered.

You can also go directly to ILLiad to create an account and/or enter the article information manually at http://libguides.wcsu.edu/using/ILL
